Senior Project Manager - Eikon Platform Views Project Management Team (SBU)

The Eikon Platform is a major focus of investment for the Thomson Reuters business and to strengthen its position as the market leader and offer high quality content and product functionality that differentiates us from our competitors, protecting and growing our market share in key strategic areas. The projects will be mainly, but not exclusively, focused on product delivery development - the role is to deliver the full benefit on behalf of the business from idea generation to implementation.

The Eikon Platform Views Project Manager is responsible for
- The definition/delivery of the Views Platform which contains over with ~1000 Views/Guides to date across multiple business verticals.
- Coordination of Delivery Vertical teams across Views by defining/driving delivery roadmap into the program
- Key interface between the Views program and the Views business vertical teams
- Coordination between increasingly diverse Views Vertical teams, many of whom are new to the Eikon Platform.

- Enacting transformational changes to support the teams transition to adapting adopting Agility

Scope Impact: The successful candidate will lead the definition, delivery and/or deployment phases of the Thomson Reuters Project Process, although not typically including management of the budget. Initiating and managing multiple large projects in parallel, based in multiple locations and with multiple dependencies in out, with no supervision. Work with functional units to coordinate staffing to align with requirements. Assist management with staffing including resource planning, forecasting, and recruiting. Analyze capacity planning across projects. Use influence to eliminate bottlenecks and potential resource alignment problems. Deliver projects to support Thomson Reuters ability to achieve revenue targets in customer segments. Manage programmes within Thomson Reuters Project Practice standards to time, quality and budget. Many different parts of the organisation need to be involved to achieve goals, some may have conflicting priorities and working (cultural) practices are very different. May have line management responsibility.

Responsibilities: Defines, documents and executes projects of extreme high risk, complexity and visibility, actively participating in all phases of the project. Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project. Drafts feasibility studies, risk assessments and statements of work. May develop or assist in developing business cases for large projects with significant impact to company goals. Responsible for producing all typical project documentation - detailed project plans, work plans, schedules, project estimates, conversion schedules, resource plans and status reports. Determines project methodology. Defines project scope and objectives.
· Agrees terms of reference to enable costs, timescales and resource requirements for the successful completion of each project to be estimated.
· Has responsibility to ensure project deliverables are demonstrably fit for purpose.
· Gains commitments to ensure corrective actions are taken if costs, timescales or resources deviate from agreed tolerances.
· Manages the change control procedure gaining agreement for revisions to the project from project stakeholders and ensure full impact of significant changes are understood by project stakeholders.
· Ensures all parties are aware of project scope and milestones. Highlights divergence from that scope, and adjusts it where necessary to reflect changing circumstances, acts as communication liaison.

Additional Information

As with all project management roles in the organisation a degree of flexibility is required in order to effectively manage projects across multiple time zones and travel may be required

Required Skills:

• experience of delivering high value IT based projects in complex and geographically diverse organizations to time, quality and budget.
• A strong background in software development projects is desired. The candidate should be self sufficient and be able to operate at a variety of levels in the organization and provide effective leadership to a multi skilled, geographically dispersed team.

• Experience in leading and/or working with Agile teams

• Strong Ability to influence teams and stakeholders.

• Experience of delivery projects through a matrix management environment.
• Strong analytical skills required.
• Strong communication negotiation skills required and need to be able to interface with a broad range of staff from a SBU Global Head through to developers/content production teams.

Desired Skills:

· 5 years plus delivering projects in financial markets
· Knowledge and understanding of Thomson Reuters, the market it competes in and its strategic objectives is highly desirable.
· Experience must demonstrate managing large-scale projects, portfolios or PMOs (with teams based in multiple locations) to successfully deliver within specified timescales and budget.

Required Certifications:

· Bachelor degree
· Professional certification such as PMP from the Project Management Institute is highly desirable.
