Senior QA Engineer – NYC
Marketing Analytics firm in NYC is seeking a Senior QA Engineer with strong test automation skills and a minimum of 5 years of experience. You should have experience developing and executing test plans both manual and automated. Experience with open source technologies and the ability to evaluate and integrate emerging technologies in a timely fashion is required. Prior experience working in an Agile environment (as a member of a Scrum team). The role will have a significant emphasis on automating our testing process including creating validators to run on large data sets, developing scenarios for complicated functionalities and building test harnesses. Expected to work closely with product management, development, build, and technical support resources to define and execute on testing initiatives that will give the technical team the confidence to move quickly.
Skills:
- Ability to write unit and integration tests in Java
- Experience with automated web testing
- Experience with Linux shell commands and bash scripting
- Experience implementing testing in a continuous integration environment
- Strong working knowledge of browsers and web technologies
- Demonstrated ability to analyze defects/test results to identify chain of events leading to a failure
- SQL; MySQL 5.1 strongly preferred
- IDE; Eclipse strongly preferred
- Application Server/Servlet containers, Tomcat 7 preferred
- Subversion
- Maven 2
- Experience working as a member of a cross-functional Scrum team.
- Experience with online ad serving would be a huge plus.
- Any experience with Hadoop/Hive, HornetQ and/or Redis would be great but not a deal killer if you don’t.
