Senior Quality Analyst Job in Chertsey KT160PZ, Home Counties UK

Precise IT's exclusive client, a global financial systems operator is seeking an experienced QA/Tester to take on the role as Senior Quality Analyst.

Position Responsibilities

Assisting with planning the QA activities.
• Analysing and reporting on the quality level of the software.
• Advising on resources needed in order to carry out effective and efficient quality assurance.
• Delivering regular reports to the QA Manager.
• Evaluating the current level of test coverage and ensuring this is acceptable and any gaps are closed.
• Managing the regular cycle of regression testing and analysing and reporting on the results.
• Working with the QA, Actuarial Systems and Systems Development teams to develop, maintain and improve the regression test scripts and tests.
• Managing all work in a co-operative team environment, using a workflow system.
• Designing and developing new test scripts.
• Ensuring that any defects/bugs are raised and make recommendations on the severity and priority.
• Analysing and reporting on the QA testing environment and processes, with a view to ensuring continuous improvement.

Position Requirements

Experience in a similar QA or Test Analyst role.
• Understanding of standard testing principles, methodologies and terminology.
• Knowledge and experience of the full systems development lifecycle.
• Experience of developing and maintaining test plans.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work in a co-operative team environment with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Familiarity with source control software, for example ClearCase, VSS or TFS, and its use in Software Development / QA.
• Practical experience of test management software such as Test Director, Quality Centre or TFS.
• Hands on experience of defect tracking tools.
• A desire to achieve and a can-do attitude.
• Proven ability to work without close supervision or support.
• Mathematically strong.
• Experience in using MS Office.
