POSITION PROFILE
The QA Engineer will create test plans, execute plans, and automating tests when possible. The QA Engineer will provide detail information to developers to and will assist in resolving defects. The QA Engineer will need to be able to learn, understand, and test the systems as parts and as a whole. This includes checking logs, executing queries against the database, checking files on the file system and many more. The QA Engineer will be expected to understand the system in and out, and will be relied upon as an "expert" user.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors / Masters Degree in Engineering / Computer Applications.
- Certification in Computer stream.
- 4+ years of Quality Assurance industry experience
- Experience working in a less-defined andambiguous QA environment.
- SQL experience with the ability and experience to join two tables together.
- Willingness to learn, document and support a variety of systems.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with an ability to communicate with all levels of management, employees and customers.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills in troubleshooting issues.
- Candidates should have participated in at least one significant system implementation or upgrade with significant ongoing support experience.
- Experience understanding database schemas and running queries against said schemas.
- Experience working with numerous operating systems, including Linux, Mac, and Windows.
- Experience working with a distributed team is a must.
- Experience working with Agile principles and methodologies.
- Proven leadership skills, including the ability to bring forward opinions/ideas and to inspire others.
