Senior Quality Engineer
Our client is an extremely prominent non-union tier 1 automotive supplier that has grown 30% since 2008. The Quality Manager is actively pursuing a Senior Quality Engineer (#2 Quality role in plant-700 employee facility) due to a recent departure. This role will have a high level of visibility and room for growth potential.
Responsibilities will include:
- Train quality inspectors, developing their product knowledge and improving their work duties on their respective shifts.
- Work with quality department and plant SPC facilitator to help implement and develop statistical methods of process control and improvement ensuring the processes are intact and procedures are followed on a daily basis.
- Final decision maker regarding quality standards.
- Read blueprints, specifications and control plans to ensure that specifications, standard processes and operations are being maintained and that due care in the manufacture of the product is being maintained.
- Audit quality system insuring adherence to Quality Manual procedures.
- Evaluate causes of scrap and work toward the elimination of such defects.
- Lead and direct associates on quality standards.
- Develop and implement new and/or improved quality systems and/or procedures.
- Review new job notices and quotes.
- Schedule and attend meetings to review prints, ensure packaging is available, develop documents, monitor tool/assembly equipment progress and build prototypes.
- Interface with customers regarding program launches and manufacturing of quality parts.
- Verify certifications, layout parts and capability studies.

3. APQP Core Tool Knowledge (Control Plans; PFMEA; Process Flow; PPAP; Gage Control MSA; etc…)
4. Fluent in use of a variety Problem Solving Tools Techniques (8d; 5-Why; Affinity Diagrams; Cause Effects Analysis; PDCA; DMAIC; etc…)
5. Knowledge of ISO TS-16949; Capable of internal audits; supplier audits; and manage supplier corrective actions
6. Supervisory Skills, as well as able to work in a Cross Functional Team environment; Strong Interpersonal Skills
7. Developing Quality Alerts
8. Ability to Multi-Task
Preferred Experience, Education, and Training:
1. Automotive Experience in Statistical Quality Control; Advanced Quality Planning; and DOE
2. Experience with interfacing professionally with customer Quality representatives and their requirements
3. Experience with automotive customer specific requirements
4. Bachelor’s degree
