About the Team:
The SWIP Quantitative Investment Group has a broad and growing remit within SWIP Investment Solutions. Responsibilities include equity portfolio management, derivative portfolio management, derivative execution pricing, quantitative risk analysis optimisation and general quantitative consultancy.
What will you be doing?
We are seeking an individual with proven experience in developing quantitative equity investment strategies to contribute to the team's investment process. Our need is for a researcher, rather than a portfolio manager, although the successful candidate will be closely involved in all aspects of portfolio construction. The team's investment process can be summarised as 'bottom-up equity quant' with an emphasis on backtesting and understanding the fundamental drivers of factors and strategies. Our models are primarily built in Factset based on historical financial statement data and macroeconomic signals.
What Skills/Experience will you need?
* 3 years plus experience developing quantitative equity strategies
* Detailed understanding of the behaviour and performance drivers of equity styles such as value, growth, momentum quality
* Good knowledge of financial statement analysis
* Experience of equity risk models and portfolio construction required
* Strong academic background (i.e. PhD or MSc in a quantitative subject)
* Conscientious and analytical mindset
* The ability to communicate clearly explain ideas
* Some programming experience preferred but not essential
