SENIOR REGIONAL ENGINEER – SERVER OPERATIONS

Responsibilities:
provide on-going support for all Microsoft servers in the environment
provide on-going support for all virtual servers in the environment
problem ticketing resolution
provide day to day expertise and system support for the Windows network and the Intel server farm
support of Windows 2000/2003/2008 server, Windows 2003/2008 advanced server and active directory and all associated server applications
keep abreast of current vendor security issues or problem resolution patches, testing, and roll-outs to production
manage and provide out of hours support for global server systems
coordinate or assist in the coordination of assigned projects for the maintenance and development of systems in assigned areas; use superior customer service skills to ensure systems meet the needs of the client
provide technical support for projects and/or existing systems in cooperation with other team members
ensure that the appropriate documentation of developed and installed systems from both the client and technical perspective is prepared
prepare appropriate technical design specifications as needed to execute projects
prepare programmes and systems as necessary to support assigned project tasks
assist in the development and/or delivery of training to clients on new systems as necessary
assist managers of other team members with project management and planning as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Information Systems or Computer Science is preferred
MCSE desirable but not essential
proven more than five years’ work experience in an information services environment is required
extensive support and problem identification and resolution experience
must possess a solid understanding of software and/or hardware systems used in assigned area
technical knowledge with server technologies that deliver solutions for application and business clients
HW knowledge, preferably Compaq/HP systems including monitoring, tuning and management
good knowledge of underlying network layer architecture and protocols
keep abreast of current developments and trends in information technology through networking, continuing education and industry/technology publications
interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact and communicate with a variety of individuals at all technical levels is required
must have exceptional ability in diagnosing and solving information system problems while maintaining professionalism and courtesy
ability to cooperate in a global team environment is critical
