GBI’s Trade Finance Division has two strategic business units: Origination Distribution (OD) and Trade Commodity Finance (TCF). In TCF, we support firms with international trade operations by delivering all trade finance products including documentary credits and collection products and various tailor-made loan products. In OD, where the position is open, our counterparties are other banks from emerging and advanced economies. Syndicated loans and other trade-related products such as documentary credits and collections products, funded stand-bye LCs and other tailor-made products are covered in primary and secondary markets for both origination and distribution purposes. The asset book of OD includes both firms and other banks as borrowers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Submits credit proposals (credit analysis, counterparty rating) for firms with international commercial activity which includes information about the term-sheet, facility agreement, other security and presents it to the Credit Committee, and defends it.
- Follows up the accurate booking and the entire life-cycle of the transaction through effective internal communication.
- Originates and distributes assets by efficiently and effectively interacting with primary and secondary market participants.
- Structures, prices and negotiates deals internally and externally with other banks and firms.
- Actively seeks to originate and to participate to the syndications of international firms engaged in agri-commodities, metals and energy commodities by contacting various other international banks.
- Accomplishes ad-hoc tasks and projects on a timely and accurate manner.
- From time to time, visits other banks, attends events and receives other banks at GBI premises to foster origination and distribution possibilities.
- Makes sure GBI’s promise to client “to deliver fast, accurate, tailor-made, innovative and country specific solutions” is fulfilled at all times.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Proficient in corporate credit analysis.
- Proven fluency in English; ability to comprehend complex documentation and to communicate well.
- Proficient in (LMA) syndicated loan products and related documentation and technicalities.
- Proficient in documentary credits and collections products.
- Proficient in primary and secondary market pricing (cash pricing, all-in pricing, conversion).
- Proficient in primary and secondary market pricing trends of FIs and corporates for covered products and for securities.
- Performs under time-pressure, delivers results at deadlines in an organized manner.
- Top level self-motivation.
- Proven ability to learn and to apply fast and accurately.
- Dependable team player.

- Fluency in at least one emerging-market language (e.g. Turkish, Russian, Arabic, Mandarin)
Education and Experience:
- University graduate
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience at another financial institution.
