Senior Research Analyst, Portfolio Strategies Group recruitment
As a member of the Portfolio Strategies Group (PSG) this position will lead development and analysis of asset allocation strategies. Activities will include construction and use of quantitative models and the investigation of multi-asset strategies in the context of investor goals. Along with the multi-asset portfolio management team, PSG analysts are responsible for the investment integrity of the modeling and derived products for Russell balanced funds as well as portfolios recommended to clients. Additionally they are responsible for research and analysis as well as its presentation to internal, external audiences and to the media. They will also lead and develop other associates assigned to the team.
The responsibilities of the individual in this position include:

Product Development: As part of the Portfolio Strategies Group and in conjunction with Associates from other Russell Business Units, lead development of product initiatives using quantitative modeling and economic analysis.

Portfolio and Quantitative Model Construction and Maintenance: Responsible for the investment integrity of a large range of Quantitative Models and modeling resources; to include legacy model evolution, new model development, and vetting of underlying economic and financial data

Portfolio and Insight Communication: Lead efforts along with fellow PSG members in the presentation of portfolio strategies and insights derived from asset allocation analyses to both internal and external audiences, including media.

Portfolio Implementation and Analysis: Facilitate the application of portfolio construction methodologies to insight- based products, as well as scenario analysis for research and market event driven portfolio inquiries.

Ongoing Training and Skill Development: Continue development of media and presentation skills, familiarity with academic publications and industry research on asset allocation methodologies, and targeted course work at post-graduate / post-masters level in econometrics, economics, and financial engineering.
The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:

Master's degree required- MBA, Finance, Statistics or Economics; Doctoral degree preferred.

CFA, or progress towards, strongly preferred.

Advanced training in finance, economics, statistics.

5 years experience understanding of Quantitative Financial Modeling and Portfolio generation.

5 years computer skills including advanced Excel applications and Statistical Software (e.g., R, S-Plus, Matlab).

Detailed knowledge of investment and insurance products used in retirement planning

Thought leadership, the ability to facilitate innovation within the organization.

Strong written and verbal communication skills; including presenting to Executive audiences, industry conferences and media. The ability to relay technical concepts in an understandable fashion.

Proven record of creating publishable articles and papers.

Leadership ability to manage and direct projects working with team of PSG analysts.

Ability to work autonomously on a wide range of projects simultaneously.

Proven ability to multi-task, and work in a dynamic environment.
