Position Summary / Essential Functions
Research Associates (RA) will support our experienced team of Analysts to help cover existing investments and conduct research on new investment ideas. The RA will be responsible for building financial models, gathering and analyzing data, and preparing presentations and research for the investment team. As part of the research process, RAs have the opportunity to meet with executive management from leading companies, interview industry experts, attend industry conferences, and make on-site visits to facilities and stores of portfolio companies. An RA who excels in his/her role will have increased input into the investment decision making process and will take on greater responsibility for planning research projects and managing junior staff members.
Necessary Skills and Qualifications
• B.S. or B.A. degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or other relevant major.
• 2+ years of experience working in the investment research industry.
• Fluency in Portuguese, speaking and writing, a plus, but not required.
• Solid knowledge of Brazilian culture a plus, but not required.
• A genuine and demonstrable interest in investment research.
• Strong academic performance – please note GPA on resume.
• Exceptional work ethic and an ability to complete assigned projects in a timely manner without direct supervision.
• Outstanding analytical and strategic aptitude.
• CFA charter-holder or CFA candidate preferred, but not required.
• The candidate is expected to work for 2-5 years before returning to graduate school.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
