Senior Research Associate recruitment
This position is located in Seattle and is responsible for manager due diligence, relationship building and selection in several traditional asset classes, as well as some exposure to alternative strategies.
The ideal candidate will be an intellectually curious, technically experienced, and self-motivated team member with at least ten years of experience and an extensive network of manager contacts. They will understand performance is only part of the picture. Knowing what questions to ask asset managers is vital to getting at the heart of why they succeed; whether their success is repeatable; and under what conditions clients can expect over-/under- performance.
The position will be responsible for creating client-ready presentation materials to facilitate prudent decision-making by boards of trustees and plan sponsors; proactively seeking new and more predictive models for incorporating active managers into clients’ asset allocations; and serving as a representative of the firm by meeting with investment managers, speaking at industry conferences, and developing trusted relationships with high quality managers.
We are seeking a CFA charter holder with a Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics or other closely related field. An MBA is preferred and CAIA is highly desirable. As a Senior Research Associate, there will be the opportunities to mentor junior staff and integrate them into research, evaluation and investment monitoring efforts.
Candidates should possess in-depth knowledge of asset managers and demonstrate a proven track record overseeing a broad range of asset classes; an expert in several asset classes is preferred. We require someone with excellent written, verbal and presentation skills and someone who is computer proficient with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel and web-based applications. Experience using Bloomberg, Morningstar, eVestment Alliance and other comparative databases is desired.
