Three year fixed term appointment – Darwin / Batchelor
Remuneration: Academic Level D - $106,901 - $117,770
This exciting new research leadership position has been established to guide implementation of the Australian Indigenous Research and Researcher Development Project - a Collaborative Research Network (CRN) program funded by the Commonwealth Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research.
The primary objective of the role is to work in a world-leading CRN partnership (with AIATSIS/ ANU/CDU/Monash University) over three years to increase Indigenous researcher participation and output and secure critical mass and capacity within Batchelor Institute to advance nodes of networked research activity in Indigenous Languages, Education and the Arts.
The Senior Research Leader will have national/international recognition and an established track record in attracting and managing nationally competitive grants as chief investigator in either: Indigenous Languages; Indigenous Education; or Indigenous Creative Arts. The successful applicant will have experience in recruiting Higher Degree by Research candidates and be able to demonstrate success in mentoring candidates through to completion. The Senior Research Leader will have a considerable publication record and/or other signifi cant research outcomes and previous leadership experience in building a research team and/or in research management. The position is identifi ed as a research-only professorial position and is not expected to contribute to undergraduate teaching or institutional governance work, beyond an appropriate level of engagement in Higher Degree and Ethics committees.
Preference will be given to Indigenous Australian or other First Nations research leaders.
