Senior Research Protein Purification Biochemist / Post-Doc Molecular Biologist
Senior Research Associate / Post-Doctoral Researcher Cleveland, OH $17-19/hr, contract-to-perm Seeking a Senior Research Associate / Post-Doctoral Researcher for research in the area of biological, biophysical and translational aspects of human neurodegenerative diseases . This position has great benefits other than being part of Cleveland?s most renowned research facility. Research will be conducted utilizing protein-protein, protein-lipid interactions, and proteomic studies. The successful candidate will develop and validate novel physicochemical methods for the detection and conformational studies of misfolded proteins in a variety of human and animal tissues, and in laboratory-generated samples. The working environment is a biosafety level II and III environment. The Research Associate will have technical skills in: Selection, characterization, and labeling of new high-affinity ligands Purification of proteins, characterization, and labeling Florescence and circular dichroism spectroscopy, mass spectroscopy, and ultracentrifugation Performing bioassays and creative formulation of new experiments in transgenic mice Independently formulate new experiments, keeping a thorough lab notebook Incumbent will also perform data collection, analysis of results, and writing the papers The Research Associate will is required to have: BS / MS in Molecular Biology / Biochemistry / Protein Chemistry or a closely related field AND 3-5+ years relevant lab experience PhD / MD AND 0-3 years relevant lab experience Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer.
