We are seeking a Senior Research Scientist for our Enfield, CT location.​

 

 

SUMMARY:

 

The individual will work in the Research and Development Laboratory in the design, management, and execution of procedures and experimentation relating to the Product support in the lab products, fermentation and cell culture.

 

 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·         Works with Marketing to develop and execute experiments to validate and support current products and new Product Development in fermentation and cell culture.

·         Manages Laboratory Inventory and equipment in support of experimentation.

·         Manages Cell Culture facility including maintaining Cell Line and Strain collections.

·         Provides training support when needed to sales, service, and customers.

·         Present and analyze data in a clear, concise format to stake holders.

·         Work closely with marketing to provide technical input in relation to market trends and competition.

·         Assists with the development of new experiments and procedures.

·         Interact with internal personnel and customers to acquire and exchange information.

·         Produce SOP and Application notes for internal and external publications.

·         Evaluate new technologies or products for potential integration into product portfolio.

·         Evaluate novel and competitive cell culture and fermentation techniques and equipment findings.

 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

 

·         Bachelor’s degree required. Masters or PHD degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biosystem Engineering or other related life science advanced degrees preferred.

·         Minimum four years related experience in research, laboratory or pharmaceutical production facility required.

·         Hands-on mammalian cell culture experience required.

·         Hands-on experience with fermenters/bioreactors required.

·         Published in a Peer Reviewed Journal.

 

 

COMPUTER SKILLS:

 

Possess excellent overall computer skills in all MS Office products such as Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, Project and Power Point.

 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

 

·         Ability to travel up to 15% of the time is required.

·         Traveling, lifting and demonstrating equipment are essential elements of the job.
