Senior Retail Compliance Monitoring Manager recruitment
This role will be based in either the London office or Northampton Office with Management and oversight of a team of 6.
Responsibilities
Interpret key regulatory rules, guidance and proposed regulatory changes in relation to the firms products and services
To support the Compliance strategy by delivery of the firms Compliance plan and objectives.
The jobholder will be responsible for enhancing the compliance culture within the organisation by developing and managing effective relationships with key business areas/stakeholders at all levels within the firm.
Work closely with the Compliance Director and other senior compliance managers as they build and develop effective working relationships with regulators and other outside bodies.
Provide technical guidance, support and tailored feedback on regulatory issues to both the business and the Compliance Manager population, ensuring that new business proposals as well as existing processes, systems and controls comply with regulatory obligations and the firms own standards and principles.

Regulatory Affairs
Issue of Regulatory Consultation documents for sign off , ensuring effective, accurate and timely proposals are provided to Group, industry bodies or the regulator as appropriate
Reporting, Policy Regulatory Liaison
Management of Key Risk Scenarios, Principal Risk Reporting and Principal Risk Attestations
Maintenance/revision/distribution of the following key documents:
• All Compliance Policies
• Compliance Manual
• Annual Compliance Plan
• Your Responsibilities
• Stakeholder engagement plan
• Compliance Charter
Compliance Advisory
Stakeholder engagement with the business within area of responsibility (object is to review progress on current issues, preparedness for horizon regulatory change, current regulatory progress, Annual Compliance plan and Monitoring Plan progress and issues arising, potential regulatory issues for escalation)
Input to control issues reporting to Group Compliance (including notifying new issues and providing updates/confirmation of closure)
Compliance Monitoring
Leadership of team to ensure adherence to the Compliance competence framework and to ensure that knowledge and skills remain up to date, including a good understanding of business activities and products.
Ensure that all Compliance Monitoring activity is undertaken in accordance with Procedures for business communication, preparatory activity (obtaining and reviewing MI and procedures, extracting relevant elements of the Risk Universe, reviewing regulatory requirements, discussing forthcoming activity with relevant Compliance Advisory team
Ensuring effective budgetary control for all Compliance Monitoring activities in accordance with the firms Policy.
Knowledge and Expertise
Broad and /or In depth technical compliance knowledge and the application of FSA rules and guidance in relation to a retail firm.
Working knowledge of key regulatory /consumer bodies including:
FSA
FLA
OFCOM
The Lending Standards Board
ICO
Office of Fair Trading
Financial Ombudsman Service
A wide experience and understanding of the banking and financial services industry
An Understanding of retail customers and the regulations affecting them.
