Job Description
The Revenue Finance Department of Partners Corporate Finance performs the revenue valuation, reporting and budgeting functions for Brigham and Women"â¬â¢s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, McLean Hospital and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. Working closely with local CFO"â¬â¢s and local budget offices, revenue finance managers and staff provide technical expertise for all aspects of Net Patient Service Revenue, and are responsible for ensuring that net revenue and reserve levels for the financial statements are properly stated. Revenue Finance staff also work closely with corporate constituents in the development of consolidated operating budgets and in the implementation of value added services that enable the evaluation of contract and service lines.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
"â¬Â¢ Support Net Revenue Manager and work closely with other Senior and Junior Analysts in ensuring that Net Revenue information is accurate, and that monthly financial close deadlines are met for Brigham and Women"â¬â¢s Hospital.
"â¬Â¢ Work closely with Net Revenue Manager to ensure Medicare reimbursement and settlements, as well as other Third Party Settlements are properly recorded.
"â¬Â¢ Perform Analytical tasks related to development of the annual revenue budgets and quarterly forecasts.
"â¬Â¢ Perform database analysis for the purpose of analyzing actual to budget variances and other data issues that have a bearing on accurate revenue measurement.
"â¬Â¢ Assist in the development of work processes and documentation.
"â¬Â¢ Provide analytic support to Partners and Entity CFO as requested.
"â¬Â¢ Interact with personnel from various local and corporate functions as necessary.
Requirements
"â¬Â¢ Bachelor"â¬â¢s degree in accounting or finance. Master"â¬â¢s degree preferred
"â¬Â¢ Two to three years of hospital revenue and reimbursement experience in an academic medical center, including an in-depth knowledge of governmental and private payor payment methodologies strongly preferred.
"â¬Â¢ Detail oriented, with the ability to achieve accuracy under tight deadlines.
"â¬Â¢ Excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.
"â¬Â¢ Excellent oral and written communications skills, with the ability to effectively interpret complex data.
"â¬Â¢ Ability to work effectively on teams.
"â¬Â¢ Interest in efficiency, automation and work process improvement.
"â¬Â¢ Understanding of the functions and uses of database management systems.
"â¬Â¢ Intermediate to advanced skills with MS Excel and MS Access a must. If skills are at the intermediate level, candidate must be willing to develop advanced level skills through in-house training and self-study on the job. Legacy systems are learned on the job.
