Senior Rice Trader
Senior Rice Trader – Hong Kong
The top management is looking to develop their exposure in looking to add a new Senior Rice trader / marketing executive with international trade experience of exporting rice to international markets.
They have obtained reserve capacity of 200,000 tons of rice grain and are seeking to establish a new business unit for the export of rice grain.
This senior executive will be responsible for obtaining sales contracts for the rice exports and to handle all relevant financing and necessary export and import documentation.
Role responsibilities
- Works with the Leadership team to develop and execute the short-long term strategies for Rice
- Including origination, freight, marketing, trading and risk management
- Originates, procures and sells Rice to global customers to reach target volumes and revenue ( and particularly with Vietnam
- Executes and manages Rice positions including flat price risk, counterparty and market risk, stress limits and freight risk
- Identify and develop key customer relationships, both regional and export markets with a view to building value through customized business solutions
- Partners with the relevant merchandising managers to review the supply chain management and integration aspects of trades secured
Preferred Skills, fit Experience :
- Retail distribution experience in Asia, it would be excellent.
- Marketing / Trading
- Business development skills
- Degree in Agricultural Economics, Economics, Statistics or other relevant disciplines
- Significant years of trading experience in soft commodities with at least 4/5 years specializing in rice, either with a large commodity trading house or equivalent
- Entrepreneurial
- Proven team player
- Ability to build a strong performance driven team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong network in trade / Strong proven track record
