And it all starts with you. Current Need Primary risk management liaison to oncology practices as well as McKesson Specialty Health. The Senior Risk Manager works with CSA practices, senior management, business unit personnel, Senior Director of Risk Management, others in McKesson's Risk Management Department, insurance broker, insurance carriers and others as appropriate to manage risk mitigation efforts and the cost of risk. Position Description 1. Primary Risk Management Liaison to CSA Practices - This position is responsible for understanding the CSA practice risks, communicating these risks to the Senior Director of Risk Management, mitigating these risks to the extent possible and obtaining appropriate underwriting data from the CSA practices for submission to underwriters. - Some exposures are specific to the CSA practices and the risk management function may be delegated by the practices to McKesson under the CSA agreements. This position has primary responsibility for managing these risks and obtaining appropriate coverage. The required activities may include: - Working with the CSA practices to determine their insurance and risk mitigation needs. - Working with the CSA practices on incidents and claims. - Working with insurance carriers to design beneficial programs for the CSA practices. - Working with the CSA practices to obtain required underwriting information. - Negotiating competitive rates and terms with insurance carriers on behalf of the CSA practices. - Processing payments and allocating expenses to the CSA practices on an equitable basis. 2. Management of McKesson Specialty Health's Risk - Some of McKesson Specialty Health's risks are unique within the McKesson family. Understanding these risks and being able to communicate them to the Senior Director of Risk Management is a requirement of this job. - This position is responsible for gathering the required underwriting information on behalf of McKesson Specialty Health for the renewal of McKesson Corp's policies. 3. The Home Office Risk Management Department and the McKesson Specialty Health Risk Management Department work together as a team. This position will often be called on to provide back-up risk management services throughout the corporation. - Contract and RFP review requests are frequent and time sensitive. This position will work with the Senior Risk Manager on getting these completed on a timely basis. 4. Claims - The management of claims, including managing the third party administrator, notifying our insurance broker and liaising with McKesson's Legal Department on risk management issues related to these claims. 5. Identify significant risks and communicate to Senior Director of Risk Management. Minimum Requirements - 10+ years risk management experience Additional Knowledge Skills - Desire to provide timely support to oncology practices - Deep understanding of risk management issues and concerns - Understanding of healthcare operations and issues - Ability to work with people at all levels of the organization - General accounting and finance knowledge - Claims handling knowledge Education - Bachelor's Degree required, MBA preferred Physical Requirements General Office Demands Benefits Company Statement We believe you should be rewarded for the important work you do.
