Senior Risk Officer
The Role
The primary purpose is to support the Head of Risk and Compliance in the ongoing management and monitoring of risk and your main duties will include –
- Planning, designing and implementing an overall risk management process for the organisation
- Implement suitable risk management and monitoring software
- Risk assessment and evaluation, involving comparing estimated risks with criteria established by the organisation such as costs, legal requirements and environmental factors, and evaluating the organisation’s previous handling of risks
- Establishing new policies and procedures and conduct audits of existing policies and compliance to standards
- Liaison with internal and external auditors
- Mitigate risk by carrying out regular reviews of all aspects of the business including; sales advice, investment management, systems and controls
Key Requirements
- Operational or Investment Risk experience preferably gained within an Investment Management or Wealth Management environment
- Experience of creating and applying risk management policies and procedures
- Project management and process re-engineering experience
- Some knowledge of the FSA rulebook
- Track record of applying a balanced commercial and risk based approach to decision making
- Ideally experience of conducting audits and reviews
- Excellent communication – written and verbal
- Strong commercial awareness regarding the impact of Risk on the business
