Senior Risk Programme Manager – Investment Bank recruitment
Our Client's Global Risk function comprises of over 30,000 FTE across the Risk functional areas (Risk Strategy, Wholesale Market Risk, Retail Risk, Operational Risk, Security Fraud Risk and Compliance), supporting the bank's Global Business streams. This scale requires a much greater level of oversight and management, therefore necessitating the development of the COO and Change Delivery teams within Global Risk.
As such, a Senior Risk Change / Risk Programme manager is required to join the 'Global Risk Change Delivery' team on an initial 12 month contract.
- The Global Risk Change Delivery area supports the wider Risk function in driving transformational activity by managing a change portfolio of programmes which underpin the delivery of the re-engineering of Risk to improve its cost and risk profile, operating efficiency and service quality. In addition the Risk Change Delivery area oversees regulatory programmes and other significant change programmes.
- A senior programme manager, Risk Change Specialist or Risk Transformation Consultant must be able to take on responsibilities on large, complex change initiatives with executive level sponsorship. The scope of your role will cover assessing impact on the business, senior client and stakeholder engagement / management, high level leadership and team oriented engagements, ensuring operational effectiveness and risk control at every turn (more information on exact responsibilities will be divulged to suitable candidates after an initial consultation).
Key Risk Management and Observational Control responsibilities:
- - Risk Management: Maintain awareness of operational risk and minimise the likelihood of it occurring including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting in accordance with Group best practise.
Observation of internal controls:
- - The Senior Risk Programme Manager will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.
- - The Senior Risk Programme manager will implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with the relevant Compliance Department. The term 'compliance' embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.
- - The Senior Risk Programme Manager will acheive this by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity. Also and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators.
Key Senior Risk Programme Manager experience experience:
- - A proven track record of creating, developing and leading sizeable teams to deliver complex projects.
- - Experience of delivering programmes within the Risk Management area, and specifically reasonable understanding of fraudAML, evolving technologies and reputational risk,
- - Excellent change management experience and self-starter evidence of driving change and improvement.
- - Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability of organisational planning, resource mobilisation and problem solving.
- - Ability to work effectively under pressure with competing and rapidly changing priorities.
- - Ability to develop cohesive working relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
- - Ability to bring analytical rigour and structure and effective solutions to poorly-defined problems
- - Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- - Typical qualifications would include a Masters degree / equivalent experience and the role holder will have professional qualifications in Project Management e.g. Project Management Professional (PMP).
