Senior Risk + Projects Manager
Melbourne CBD 6 month contract
$150,000 - $170,000 package
My client is leading financial services organisation looking to further strengthen there operational risk talent to further add value to the group business.
This role is a group role so will offer wide coverage across the organisation and the opportunity to act as a true advisor and influence a number of senior stakeholders across the business
The purpose of the role is to provide full time embedded risk management and support to a key strategic projects and its management office. This role will initially be a contract with the opportunity to extend.
Ideal candidate
- CA/CPA qualified
- Big 4 background preferred, but not essential
- Background working within or on behalf of financial service clients is essential
- People management experience preferred but not essential
- Project Management experience
- Proven experience dealing with and influencing key senior stakeholders
- Ability to engage a broad range of stakeholders
- Sound communication skills, both written and verbal, to inform or influence specific audiences
- Sound planning and implementation skills, and demonstrated ability to apply them in rapidly changing business
- environments
- Ability to implement, monitor and report on risk management frameworks, risks and incidents
- Big 4 background preferred, but not essential

- Project Management experience
- Proven experience dealing with and influencing key senior stakeholders
Key role responsibilities
- Working as the primary Group Risk Management representative within the project's Management Office to help the project understand and manage the risk and compliance implications of the project
- Offering support to ensure the project adheres to Risk Management Policy and Framework
- Supporting the project team in the development of the project's risk register and the identification of key controls to mitigate the existing and new project risks and business risks identified
- Providing support to complete business impact assessments of risks and working with the management office to gain appropriate business ownership/agreement of risks
- Assisting the project to establish a 'process change' review and approval procedure and conduct process change' reviews where appropriate
- Supporting the ongoing identification of obligations and related controls for the project in relation to key regulations
- Providing project management reporting status updates to Group Risk Management on the projects' material risks, action plans and overall embedded risk management
- Working to foster and enhance a 'risk aware' culture among the project team leading the sustainability of the ERM framework in the BU via training, advice etc
- Developing and maintaining key relationships within the project staff and Product Operations business units to effectively manage project and business impact risk
