Job Summary

The candidate will be responsible for the different aspects of fragrance for Global Skin Cleansing and Care products. The focus of the work will be to drive the fragrance development process and to address the fragrance issues related activities. For the fragrance development process, the position will require prior experience of fragrance in product evaluation and product formulation knowledge. The process includes supporting the cross functional teams during the fragrance brief development, being the single point of contact for fragrance for both the Unilever teams as well as the Fragrance Houses, ensuring the fragrance fit for the brand and consumer appeal, leveraging the formulation-fragrance expertise in order to deliver superior fragrances. The candidate must maintain a level of knowledge and awareness of both consumer and technical arenas in order to affect change in future business directions.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1.       Drive the fragrance development process: from brief development to ensuring final fragrance delivery which meets the brief criteria.

2.       Address with the Fragrance Houses any reworks required for new developments or for current market products.

3.       Address fragrance issues (i.e. regulatory): work closely with all the relevant countries to develop a timeline, in some cases lead the rework of the fragrances, and ensure implementation in the different countries.

4.       Global Consumer understanding: ensure fragrance is designed to perform at the moments when fragrance is most relevant in the different product formats.

5.       Support fragrance portfolio management.

6.       Awareness of functional materials used to formulate Skin Cleansing and Care products

7.       Interact and drive decisions with global cross functional teams (Marketing, Procurement, Consumer Insight, and Regulatory) and Fragrance Houses.

8.       Assist in developing consumer research objectives, contributing to designing consumer testing protocol.

9.       The individual must be able to carry out all the physical tasks for batch making and working in a lab and pilot plant environment.

 

Key Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Chemical Engineering or related degree and minimum of 4 years Fragrance expertise (working knowledge of fragrance raw materials and evaluation). Experience in HPC related industry is ideal.
