Senior Server Analyst (VMware) Job in Edmonton, Alberta Canada
Eagle is currently seeking one (1) Senior Server Analyst (VMware). This contract opportunity is slated to begin in June, and is projected to be twelve (12) months in length.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Adhering to all established policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and practices;
- Providing VMware host services (deployment, support, maintenance);
- Maintaining, supporting and enhancing server software/hardware products under the supervision and direction of the Server Operations Team Lead;
- Maintaining/updating server procedures, processes documentation, configuration diagrams and spreadsheets;
- Establishing proper communications with clients, vendors, and internal support groups;
- Providing required technical assistance and consultation to internal technical teams; and,
- Participating in domain migrations, Hosting Proposal projects and requests for service (RFS).
Skills and Qualifications
The qualified candidate must have:
- A related degree/diploma/certification with 5 years IT industry experience;
- Industry experience working as a server support analyst;
- Experience deploying and supporting VMware ESX/ESXi 3 and/or 4 operating systems;
- Experience configuring virtual guests in a VMware ESX/ESXi environment;
- Experience using one or more of vCenter Server, vCenter Server Heartbeat, vCenter CapacityIQ;
- Experience installing and supporting Server Blades in an HP C-class Enclosure using VirtualConnect;
- Working level knowledge of applicable programming and scripting languages;
- Experience using a server OS deployment tool;
- Experience installing and supporting SUSE Linux as a system administrator;
- Experience installing and supporting Windows 2003 or 2008 as a system administrator;
- Experience with IBM xSeries server platforms;
- Experience with Remedy Action Request System (ITSM); and,
- Experience with Remote Access software (Terminal Services, VPN, Citrix).
