SENIOR SETTLEMENTS ADMINISTRATOR recruitment

We have an excellent career opportunity for a Senior Settlements Administrator in our Jersey City office. The Senior Settlements Administrator will be responsible for overseeing cash management of client’s custodial cash, claims management, and training staff. In addition, individual will be responsible for supervising a team of 4-5 Settlements Administrators. 

Specific Responsibilities:

• To oversee and supervise the Settlements Team in the following tasks:

- Resolution of fails/unmatched trades

- Overdraft charge research and resolution

- Assist Portfolio Managers in cash management through the calculation of daily investment and financing requirements for certain accounts

- Reconciliation item research and clearance

- Non-receipt management (FX and TBA)

- Custodian/Dealer relationship management

• To become a leader and point of escalation in the claims management process.

• Mentor and train new team members.

• To direct and implement the FX settlement process.

• Represent Settlements in liaisons with other working groups within FFTW.

• Develop a working knowledge of settlement instructions and settlement depositories.

• Participate in account opening/closing meetings and CPM meetings.

• Participate and initiate special team projects.

Ideal Personal Profile:

• Good working knowledge of fixed income securities, foreign exchange and fixed income derivatives with special reference to how they are traded and settled.

• Highly numerate and detail oriented. Must be comfortable with mathematical concepts and calculations.

• Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high energy environment that is deadline driven and detail-oriented.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Works well under pressure.  Candidate will be strong team player, self-motivated, and industrious and able to work unsupervised when necessary.

• Flexible but effective time manager who is able to prioritize responsibilities, manage several simultaneous projects from inception to completion.

• An individual of unquestionable integrity who would be an excellent representative of the firm on both a personal and professional basis and who has the ability to exercise discretion when handling confidential information.

Academic Background and Experience:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or Accounting or a related discipline. Excellent academic credentials with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0.  

• Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant professional experience in the financial services industry.

• Strong computer skills; with advanced skills in Excel.
