The Role:
Bloomberg Valuations (BVAL) is a relatively new team at Bloomberg which produces end-of-day prices for over 2 million Fixed Income securities. In the past few years, we have developed a system of complex models that use Bloomberg¿s vast market and reference data to provide high quality pricing on both liquid and illiquid securities. BVAL pricing gives our clients unprecedented advantages in their portfolio valuation and provides much needed transparency to the markets through our integration with the Bloomberg Terminal.
The BVAL team is composed of a group of experts developing new algorithms in C++ as well as the frameworks to run these algorithms on dedicated hardware (IBM and linux). As a developer in BVAL, you will have the opportunity to participate in the full software life cycle and to drive the long-term future of the product. Qualifications:
- 3 years of software development experience in C/C++
- Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Experience with and/or interest in full software development lifecycle activities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with enhancing and maintaining mission-critical software in a fast-
paced environment
- Exhibit strategic thinking, an aggressive drive, and an aptitude for engineering optimized, fault-tolerant software
- Interest in developing financial applications is a must.
- Knowledge of Fixed Income markets is valued but not required.
