Senior Software Engineer – Bloomberg Index Team recruitment

The Role:

The Bloomberg Index team is seeking a senior software developer to lead the design and development of a brand new infrastructure to deliver the next generation of financial indices. This initiative aims to create new families of indices across multiple asset types that will be offered on all core Bloomberg services. The new state-of-the-art index infrastructure is expected to scale to thousands of indices, incorporate complex, index methodologies for various asset types, and operate in a fully distributed, automated fashion leveraging cutting edge technologies. The Bloomberg Index product is expected to set a new industry standard and become one of the leading offerings in the market upon release.

The Bloomberg Index product is in a very early stage and this is an exciting time to join the team to take this brand new product to the next level!

Qualifications:

- 5+ years in designing and developing distributed (SOA), multi-threaded infrastructures using C++, Unix and relational databases
- Strong problem solving skills with solid background in data structures, algorithms
- Proven track record of being self-driven and showing a 'get-it-done' attitude
- Strong communication skills
- Development experience in the financial index industry, or commodity and fixed income securities is a big plus
