Senior Software Engineer – Foreign Exchange recruitment

The Role:

The Foreign Exchange (FX) team at Bloomberg develops software to support thecore pricing and analysis of currency data on the system. Since all of financial instruments rely on currencies, it's vital that the applications and infrastructure for the currency system are very robust, with high accuracy and availability. Functionality owned by the FX team range from trading strategy backtesting, to realtime high-volume pricing, to innovative price discovery tools.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is comfortable working on all different levels of an application, whether it's architecting the back end data model or helping to design an intuitive user interface. Software developers at Bloomberg are responsible for every step in the project life cycle, so a proven track record in taking a project from initial vision through to production deployment is a must.

Qualifications:

- 4+ years C/C++ development experience
- High comfort level using *nix operating systems
- Experience in all aspects of the software development life cycle
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential
- Good database design knowledge.
- Experience with Oracle a plus
