Senior Software Engineer - Java - Hadoop - VC Funded Start-up!

If you are a Senior Software Engineer with strong Object-Oriented Java web applications development, please read on!

We are looking for a full-time developer that is interested in an exciting path to full ownership of our platform technology. We are looking for a talented individual who enjoys producing elegant code, has a ridiculous attention to detail, and wants to rapidly learn and grow.

What you need for this position:

- 5+ years of object-oriented Java development
- Strong focus and attention to detail, and to the production of quality code
- Strong debugging skills
- Ability to work well within teams and across company functions
- Bachelors Degree

"Nice-to-haves":

- Masters/Ph.D
- Experience with Spring MVC and/or Hadoop
- Previous success in a performance-critical environment
- Entrepreneurial spirit

What you'll be doing:

- Improve the capability, efficiency and scalability of our core platform
- Work with senior members of the engineering team to develop and launch new functionality
- Code primarily in Java with both SQL and non-SQL data systems
- Conduct RD on new technologies and programming approaches, and circulate your ideas internally with our team - must have the desire and self-motivation to learn new things
- Proactively look for ways to make our systems and products better
- This is a growth position and we expect you to eventually own portions of our platform
