The Global Production Solutions team is the first point of contact in Product Development for live site issues in PayPal's Payments and Credit organization. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for providing analysis, design, and root cause solutions to these live site issues. This is *not* triage work; you will be working on an elite team with other high-performing software developers to discover and implement the solutions to these complex issues. You will be adhering to a rigorous peer-review process to ensure high-quality and robust designs, code, and tests. You will also be involved in the feature development process to provide insight on new feature functionality based on your experience in working with the live site. This is a unique opportunity to get not only a depth of knowledge in PayPal's Payments System but also a breadth of knowledge across many functional areas.
The successful candidate will have a passion for doing the right thing and providing timely, quality solutions.
Required Skills
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science (or relevant equivalent industry experience) is required (MSCS preferred).
- Must have a customer focus and commitment to quality.
- Must be able to diagnose and define problems through symptom analysis.
- Must be a team player and work collaboratively with others.
- Must be detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with the ability to appropriately prioritize.
- Expert problem-solving skills and a passion for debugging and problem investigation.
- Strong clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong software development lifecycle skills.
- Strong unit testing experience.
- Ability to assimilate information rapidly.
- Excellent C++ programming skills.
- Experience working on Relational Databases, SQL, with a preferred knowledge of Oracle.
- Five or more years experience in the software industry (experience in financial and payment systems preferred).
