Senior Software Sourcer recruitment

Our Efficiency Management department is looking for a Senior Software Sourcer in New York.

Efficiency Management works in close partnership with all divisions and regions to drive the bank’s cost reduction efforts through an integrated approach that addresses the bank’s policies, processes, demand management and supply management.

Key specific responsibilities of this role are:

• Business alignment and evolving Efficiency Managements value proposition to our Internal Business Partners
• Driving high levels of spend cost reduction and avoidance
• Mitigating and managing supply risk
• Getting more value from the supply base
• Driving process excellence for Sourcing
• Driving the best value from technology deployment

You will work closely with our Internal Business Partners, Strategic Sourcing and other Procurement teams to manage our external key supplier base and develop a strategic platform and strategy for best leveraging the firm’s buying power. This will be achieved through the inclusion, but not limited to, the following key areas - 

• Define and implement strategic sourcing plans in conjunction with Business Line leaders and Strategic Sourcing
• Design, syndicate and implement category based sourcing initiatives that can be executed by the category sourcing team
• Lead and perform major contract negotiations, regional and globally with suppliers (typically $5-10m+ in value), in conjunction with your cross functional team
• Engage with key strategic suppliers, typically at a senior level – be key representative of Credit Suisse to them; drive the commercial relationship; advocate Efficiency Management value proposition
• Build strong relationships with key Internal Business Partners, in particular with senior Technology stakeholders representatives; achieve Efficiency Management targets for Trusted Advisor status

• Contribute to the development of TCO based supplier analytics and subsequent sourcing strategies to optimize the Software service portfolio
• Contribute to Efficiency Management savings targets

Additional responsibilities:
• Co-shape, advocate and drive the vision and strategy of Efficiency Management
• Raise standards, competencies, service levels of Efficiency Management to recognized industry leading status (shared responsibility)
• Ensure effective collaboration occurs with Strategic Sourcing and Procurement functions
• Provide the required capabilities and resources for conducting leading edge strategic sourcing programs
• Foster strong collaborative and close working relationships with all CS business lines and provide them a strong, broad value Efficiency Management proposition
• Realize global Efficiency Management balanced score card objectives and associated key performance indicators (shared responsibility) Divisional/Departmental Overview Efficiency Management is a highly visible, dynamic team that partners with all divisions and regions to drive the firm’s cost reduction efforts through an integrated approach that addresses the firm’s policies, processes, demand management and supply management.

Specifically the team is responsible for:
• Driving Credit Suisse to be best-in-class in cost efficiency among its peer organizations
• Managing Credit Suisse’s portfolio of suppliers and maximise the commercial and operational value to the firm through these relationships
• Shifting the culture within Credit Suisse to an ownership mindset on costs
• Partnering with other groups in CFO to increase overall accountability and enhance delivery
• Agreeing and delivering firm-wide expense efficiency initiatives, including those sponsored by the Expense Management Board

The team, which is part of the CFO division, is composed of 300+ employees across 24 locations in the Americas, EMEA, Switzerland Asia Pacific regions.  Functions include:
• Expense Category Management
• Service Delivery
• Compliance, Control Regulatory
• COO / Operational Support

A role in Efficiency Management offers broad experience across multiple business lines functional areas, exposure to senior management across the firm, opportunities to drive significant impact to the Bank from conception through post-implementation realization.  We are looking to hire experienced professionals with skills attitude necessary to deliver outstanding performance in a challenging, fast-paced environment. Qualifications TO QUALIFY, YOU MUST POSSESS:

• Proven track record in defining and implementing Strategic Sourcing Global strategies with key/large Software suppliers
• Strong understanding of internal customer (ie Technology), external market dynamics and requirements
• Well developed analytical skills
• Highly computer literate with extensive knowledge and experience of procurement tools
• In excess of 7-10 years experience in a comparable role
• Extensive knowledge of workflow and process mapping
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Strong relationship management, negotiation influencing skills
• Advanced MS Excel PowerPoint skills
• Ability to work in a multi-task environment  with excellent organizational skills
• BA or equivalent work experience plus relevant professional qualification
