Senior Solutions Analyst /Senior Business Analyst recruitment
Quality of the business requirements that enter the development process is the key focus of the role. The success of the requirements is ultimately measured by the quality and accuracy of the requirements that feed into the SDLC and minimisation of rework.
Additionally, the Solutions Analyst will be required to provide input/review/sign-off at various other stages of the SDLC including:
- Functional Solutions Specification sign off (including Test scenarios statement)
- Discussion of solution options in functional solution decisions
- Feature Walk Throughs
- Ongoing consultation through the development phase as necessary
A key requirement of the role is to be able to support the sales and go-to-market initiatives and ensure that a compelling demonstration capability is developed and handed over to the client facing teams and where necessary deliver support during key client meetings.
Accountabilities:
I) Business Requirements:
The Solutions Analyst’s main responsibility will be to ensure that business requirements are complete, correct and can be handed over to development to prepare initial estimates, functional solutions and development quotes.
With the quality of the business requirements being the main focus and objective of the role, change requests that occur during the lifecycle of the project that can be attributed back to business requirements will be one of the main measures of success. The business requirement gathering must also occur in a timely fashion so that the client delivery expectations and resourcing are managed accordingly.
The Solutions Analyst is responsible for producing the enhancement requirements (ER) document that reflects the client and market requirements. Requirements definition will involve:
- Engaging with the client to understand their requirements.
- Interfacing with the SME network including professional services, Support, CRMs Regional Solution Management, Development as well as external stakeholders to ensure complete and accurate requirements are captured.
- Ensuring client requirements are validated against the market. This will involve engagement with the Local Regional Solution Manager and those in other regions as well as external resources
- Documenting the requirements in the Enhancement Request document, to a standard ready to enter the development process for either a ROM or an IE quotes, or for a functional specification.
- Including feedback from Solutions review into the enhancement request documentation.
II) Software Development Lifecycle
The Solutions Analyst’s responsibilities involve:
- Handover/sign off business requirements to development. For a functional specification, the final requirements sign off occurs at the requirements audit.
- Review and sign off functional specifications produced by development
o to ascertain that the functional solution meets the requirements.
o Sign off the test scenarios provided by development
- This sign off is completed at the FS audit.
- Participate in solution walkthroughs with client
- Attend and sign off feature walkthroughs for enhancements – development audit
III) Sales Support
- Where required assist in configuration of tailored presentations
- Maintain the demonstration capabilities to promote the system and modules
Experience/Skills:
- Must have experience in investment accounting and be familiar with principles and practices of fund accounting.
- Experience working with HiPortfolio/3 and with various clients using either HiPortfolio/3 or another fund accounting system is desirable.
- Shows a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving.
- Excellent inter-personal skills and is confident in dealing with clients/users.
- Is familiar with the software development life cycle and the concepts and practices required to implement and deliver high quality software.
- Possesses a broad understanding of business (Investment Management/Assets servicing) and business skills.
- Ideally a degree in Finance or Economic or Business
