In this role, you will own the technology roadmap for VDI, lead the VDI engineering team and work closely with key business stakeholders to ensure technical solutions are aligned with business requirements. Essential Responsibilities - Define strategic VDI technology direction and solutions, providing input in selecting technology suppliers and integration partners - Architect and design VDI technical solutions that meet, or exceed, business requirements - Serve as overall desktop virtualization SME, coordinating and collaborating with other technology teams across GE - Act as team leader for the VDI engineering team, providing technical guidance, conducting technology evaluations, leading design discussions, preparing design documentation including reference architectures, detailed design diagrams, design assumptions and considerations, etc. - Proactively evaluate industry best practices and technologies, maintaining GE's VDI technology roadmap. - Establish strong relationships with key technology suppliers to ensure successful project implementations, address any technical issues and to influence the development of future capabilities - Conduct executive level presentations, product demonstrations and technical support as needed Qualifications/Requirements: - Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science, Information Systems, Management, Computer Engineering or related field - Minimum 10 years of IT experience including senior level technical architecture design and implementation experience - Minimum 2 years of experience with vendor or large enterprise with leading desktop virtualization technologies including vmWare View, ThinApp, Citrix XenDesktop, XenApp - Minimum 1 year of experience with Active Directory, GPO configurations and management - Minimum 1 year experience with MS Windows Server 2003/2008, MS Windows 7, MS Office 2010 Eligibility Requirements: - Must be willing to work from an office in Cincinnati, OH; Danbury, CT; Alpharetta, GA Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.
