We currently have a full-time opening for a Senior Sox Sec Compliance Analyst.
This position reports to the Associate Director, Accounting and has the primary responsibility for SOX compliance, as well as assisting with all aspects of SEC reporting. We are looking for a strong candidate who demonstrates initiative, strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting, solid understanding of SOX rules and standards, and technical competence to handle the duties. Success in this position will require a strong attention to detail, problem solving, and the ability to carry out multiple tasks in parallel in a changing environment. This position will interact with the Company's internal teams from Accounting, AP, Tax, FPA, IT, and Legal. In addition, this position will interact with external auditors and outside SOX service providers.
Responsibilities:
SOX Responsibilities:
- Perform SOX materiality and scoping exercise, risk assessment and development of annual SOX plan.
- Own the Company's SOX documentation (narratives and risk control matrices), which includes drafting new controls and modifying existing controls to ensure documentation is current.
- Perform segregation of duties analysis and complete various SOX related memos around fraud risk and use of third parties.
- Manage the quarterly internal control assessment and reporting process.
- Assist with the annual Summary of Control Deficiencies analysis.
- Ability to evaluate findings based on quantitative and qualitative factors and makes remediation recommendations as necessary and monitors remediation efforts.
SEC Responsibilities:
- Assist with the drafting of the Company's Forms 10-K, 10-Q, Proxy and other SEC filings as needed, including financial statements, footnotes and MDA.Prepare and maintain supporting schedules and documentation for SEC filings, including the disclosure checklist and audit support binder.
- Assist with the maintenance of XBRL requirements, including block and detail footnote tagging.
- Assist with the coordination with external auditors to support their review of SEC filings.
- Assist with technical accounting memos as assigned.
- Remain current with new technical accounting standards.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Minimum of 3 years of audit experience at a public accounting firm and 1-2 years of relevant industry experience for a total combination of 4-5 years' work experience.
- CPA certification is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independent and collaboratively to effectively prioritize multiple projects to meet deadlines and produce high quality work in a fast paced environment.
- Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint and experience with integrated accounting systems (Great Plains or SAP) is a plus.
- Detail oriented and willingness to roll up sleeves.
