LAC
The Turbine Aerodynamics Department is a part of the Loads, Aerodynamics Controls (LAC) Group in Vestas Technology RD. LAC ensures system integration by optimization of loads, aerodynamics and control for existing and future Vestas wind turbines. The responsibilities of LAC Aero include the areas of aerodynamics design and analysis of wind turbines directed at optimizing profitability through increased production. Moreover, a key task for the department is also development and management of relevant tools and technologies within the field of Aero.

 

Responsibilities and Tasks

The task will include:

·         Provide input to Technology Planning: define maintain technology road map; conduct yearly competitor benchmark.

·         Advising senior management: inform on technical risks and opportunities related to critical design solutions and developments.

·         Initiating participating in technical reviews: ensure design quality through cross-functional review, coaching and change orientation. Perform technical sign off for relevant reviews and documents.

·         Quality of technical solutions and life cycle management: Lead the design process on critical design solutions and activities. Pick the right solution first time. Understand field performance and feedback corrective actions in designs and reviews. Engage team members.

·         Technology development update: Maintain and disseminate awareness of relevant developments in industry and research and advise management accordingly

·         Knowledge sharing and coaching: disseminate knowledge through training, communication material. Understand applicable regulations.

 

Qualifications and Work Experience

·         Masters/ PhD in disciplines relevant to LAC Aerodynamics.

·         Experience in the domain of aero-fluid machinery and systems. Ideal candidates will show significant in-depth knowledge of wind turbines.

·         Considerable experience in aerodynamics analysis, design and operations.

·         Experience in review activities.
