Senior Staff Commodity Manager, Travel and Marketing
The Senior
Staff Commodity Manager will report to Senior Director and be located in the
Executive Offices in Cupertino, CA. The
Commodity Manager will be responsible for the strategic source and acquisition
of Marketing Solutions/Services and Corporate Travel Services.

Works
closely with Marketing and Finance Teams to ensure technology and supply
are consistent. -
Participate
and lead competitive analysis to identify best in class design concepts and
works with interdepartmental counterparts to integrate software, hardware and
service process ideas to provide robust and cost effective design. -
Manage
strategic relationships with suppliers. Set strategic plans, performs cost
analysis, negotiate cost, contracts, agreements and allocations for Marketing
and Travel commodity to achieve lowest cost of acquisition and assure supply
continuity. -
Attains
and keeps current technical and commercial understanding of software/hardware and
services purchased as well as the overall market conditions. -
Identifies
and selects suppliers for Marketing and Travel and ensures backup sources
are in place where applicable. -
Evaluates
suppliers' production capacity and ability to meet commitments as well as
respond to upside demand. -
Drives
implementation of Supply Chain Initiatives with supply base. Develops new
supply sources when technology requires it or supply is inadequate. -
Monitor
the cost, schedule and performance aspects of major contracts. -
Organize,
facilitate and manage quarterly or periodic reviews with suppliers to ensure
all requirements are being met and that deficient areas are receiving the
proper level of focus and attention. -
Works
with Buyers to accomplish company objectives. Reviews and approves
purchases up to a specified dollar amount. -
Coordinates
purchasing activities with engineering and manufacturing departments to
maintain system availability at planned levels. -
Manages
qualified global supply base to ensure predictable availability of cost
effective, quality software/hardware and services within business and
technology requirements
Requirements:
-
Have broad
expertise or unique knowledge in negotiating Marketing and Travel Software,
Hardware and related Services with major Original Manufacturers (OEM's).
Develop and give presentations to executive management to gain support for team
source decisions. -
Bachelor degree
in related discipline is required. -
5 to 10 years
experience in contract negotiations for Marketing and Travel related services. -
Proficient in
MS Word, Excel and Power Point
Preferred Skills :

Develop and Execute

Monitor Supplier performance and
leads Supplier Business Reviews -
Utilize e-Source or web based
purchasing experience if and when applicable -
Handle conflicts between Seagate
and Strategic Suppliers -
Develop metric goals aligning to
the department and reports achievements to goals. -
Develop and presents data to
support decision making and strategies. -
Develop and presents cost savings
reports and Supplier status reports to Management. -
Implement problem resolution and
escallates non-resolution to Management. -
Participate in and Facilitate
cross-functional/site team activities. -
Perform other duties as assigned.
- Six Sigma and Lean experience/certification.
- Experienced with Seagate systems such as: Oracle, E2Open, E-Car, E-sourcing, fluent in MS Project, Excel, Word and Power Point and web based search engines.
