HammondCare is a highly respected independent Christian charity specialising in providing palliative care, dementia care, rehabilitation, older person’s mental health and other health and aged care services, through sub-acute hospitals, residential care settings and innovative at-home services across NSW.
This role will be instrumental in envisioning, mentoring and equipping the next generation of palliative care specialists in a sector expected to grow significantly. With equal focus on clinical practice, and research, academic and administrative responsibilities, the consultant physician will work together with interdisciplinary teams providing inpatient, consultative and community services, based at Greenwich and Royal North Shore Hospitals.
The Position will:
- Provide outstanding clinical leadership in inpatient, outpatient and home palliative care settings
- Initiate and conduct leading edge research and establish links with national and international experts
- Provide teaching and academic supervision, including postgraduate research students
The Requirements:
- Registered (or registerable) as a Specialist Medical Practitioner in Australia; FRACP (Palliative Medicine) or equivalent and PhD or equivalent post graduate research qualification
- Excellent reputation and credibility as a senior clinical leader in palliative medicine in inpatient, consultative and community settings
- Demonstrated record of excellence in palliative care research
- Experience in postgraduate and undergraduate teaching and curriculum development
- Ethical values and alignment with the Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action of HammondCare
