This financial technology business is already well established in over-the-counter debt markets and seeking to maximise its current product potential and expand into other asset classes. To do this effectively they have identified the need to appoint an experienced strategy analyst.
You will work closely with both senior management and external clients to develop business plans as well as compelling business cases to support these. Operating in a small, experienced team you will be familiar with available industry data sources and leverage on your network of contacts to enable you operate in this autonomous role.
Objectives Accountability:
- Assist with the development and implementation of the overall strategic framework, including the strategic planning process for new financial technology products.
- Frame business issues and apply structured problem solving and commercial acumen to facilitate and drive development of solutions.
- Perform research, interviewing and financial modelling to develop and support hypotheses.
- Synthesise findings and develop compelling, structured business presentations that clearly articulate recommendations and act as a solid foundation for decision making.
- Develop an understanding of industry, market and competitor trends and recommend strategies to respond to these trends.
- Take personal accountability to manage, prioritise and drive own work efforts.
Key skill set and previous experience:
- Qualifications in financial commerce or business related discipline or relevant post-graduate study
- Experience in strategy development, analysis and business plan development
- Experience in and strong understanding of the institutional banking sector (over-the-counter financial markets and electronic trading experience highly regarded)
- Strategic thinking, problem-solving and numerical proficiency including strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Demonstrated experience in developing strong relationships
- Ability to influence, negotiate and manage expectations of senior management within the business and other stakeholders
- Strong presentation and communication skills - ability to craft and deliver messages with persuasiveness and sensitivity
