Senior Support Engineer
Develops, or recommends a support concept; performs Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) and provides “support products” e.g. manuals, training, provisioning data, etc., associated with that concept.
Support Engineering Responsibilities:
- Provides technical support (troubleshooting) to Customer, other engineering disciplines and production personnel.
- Assists in the transition from engineering to production.
- Assists with planning and developing methods and procedures for testing products or systems.
- Participates in field installation and troubleshooting activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
- Analyzes and interprets test data, and prepares technical reports.
- Assists with design of products and systems to interface hardware and software.
- Prepares engineering Product Change Notices (PCN).
- Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks. Typical tools/languages may include, C++, DOORS, VHDL, Visual Basic, Microsoft SQL or Microsoft Access.
- Analyzes and develops technical solutions and estimates for requests for proposal.
- Coordinates operation, equipment maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in factory and field installations.
- Will interface with the Customer including providing inputs to technical presentations, telecoms, formal reviews, etc.
- Performs project planning and monitoring using MS Project, MS Excel etc.
ILS Responsibilities:
- Gather source data to be used in the preparation of Logistic Support Analysis, Technical Manuals, Provisioning Data and input to the Logistics Support Analysis Record
- Provides data for the development of maintenance task descriptions, provisioning parts list, etc.
- Prepare and submit for customer approval Provisioning, Life Cycle Cost, Repair Level Analysis and Spares data items
- Develop Technical Manuals including Illustrated Parts Breakdown
- Develop operator computer based training
- Prepare Integrated Logistics Support Plan and Logistics Support Analysis Record
- Develop operator and maintainer classroom and hands-on training and training material
- Perform spares analysis
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a four-year college. Familiarity and/or use of the latest computer analysis programs used to develop, LSAR, Level of Repair and Life Cycle Cost Analyses and MS Word, Excel, Project PowerPoint. Occasional travel requiring overnight stays may be required. Airline travel must be acceptable. Must have a background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a Secret clearance when necessary for work on a project that requires such a clearance.
Experience Required
A minimum of 9 years of experience.
