Senior System and Database Administrator

Celerity is currently seeking a System and Database Administrator in support of a client located in Berwyn, PA.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor, configure/adjust and verify daily application, data and database backups
- Maintain system integrity by reviewing logs, applying updates and patches, and monitoring system and database health using appropriate tools
- Monitor and maintain system performance, and assist with application, OS and Database/SQL Statement tuning
- Assist development teams by reviewing requirements, requests, scripts and code, and making recommendations and adjustments to ensure proper performance while maintaining system integrity
- Maintain, enforce and create security policies and best practices Maintain and monitor network configurations, and work with network team to ensure best performance and security
- Maintain, monitor and create VMware and Fibre Channel and iSCSI system clusters
Qualifications:
- Ability to install Sun, Linux and Oracle servers Install and configure third party and homegrown applications
- Backup and restore servers, applications and databases using Netbackup Disk, partition, LUN and SAN management
- Experience with Version Control systems, TOAD, RMAN, Apache, Tomcat, Jboss
- Knowledge of PL/SQL Experience with shell scripting, including kshell, kornshell, perl and bash Familiarity with VMWare Sphere environments
- Knowledge of Windows Server environments and MS SQL Server a plus
- Four years experience with Unix/Linux systems and database development lifecycle and maintenance
- Certification in related technologies helpful
