My client is looking for a IMLS engineer to join their team.
Overview:
Design, develop and implement technology based solutions for Library systems and coordinate the effective integration of external, Library and other relevant systems and services, including the delivery of IT projects from the department’s annual programme of projects. Working with Library staff, teams, committee’s and groups, identify potential system and application enhancements including changes or modifications to existing deployed solutions that would provide improvements in the Library’s technological systems, services and application profile.
Your Responsibilities will include:
- Identifying trends in the development of new systems and services for service provision in the Library and their potential impact/benefit to the Library and provide advice to the Manager, Library IT and Library Management on their application/value to the Library
- Identifying and developing effective strategies for the management and continual improvement of Library systems with particular emphasis on applications and technologies to meet the future needs of the Library including developing the understanding of Library Management and Library IT in the relevance and value of these strategies to the future of the Library
- Enhancing service provision to users by exploiting and extending the functionality within the Library’s integrated library management system (ILMS) and related systems to meet the needs of the Library
- Providing leadership and direction to the Library in development of the Library systems to meet the overall strategic directions of the Library; contribute to the team’s understanding and alignment of strategic IT direction to operational and strategic outcomes and relate effectively to Library IT and to their internal and external client groups
- Ensuring cost effective management and delivery of systems to meet the overall strategic direction of the Library including identifying, implementing and subsequently reviewing appropriate technical solutions, which meet service delivery standards in compliance with best practice IT Service Management (ITIL) principles, international and Australian standards, accessibility and usability standards for IT, and University Information Communication Technology (ICT) policy and protocols
- Identifying networks and building and nurturing relationships and partnerships across the Library, University and external sources to facilitate the development and implementation of high standard services to the client group and ensure their communication to internal and external stakeholders
- In conjunction with the Manager, Library IT and other IT staff developing and reviewing business cases for development projects, providing advice and input to overall Library policy and direction; develop, review and manage project budgets
- Supporting Library IT and the Library in overall service provision as required during periods of high workload
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience with Voyager (Ex Libris)or Triple I
- Strong experience with proxy
- Excellent communications
- Experience in a Library IT environment
- Experience in project work including migrations and deployments
