Position Description
Blackbird Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support corporate programs based out of our Herndon, VA headquarters. The Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of Microsoft-based network services and infrastructure. He/she must demonstrate extensive Microsoft SharePoint and Windows Server experience.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
· Gather requirements and implement SharePoint 2007/2010 to meet customer and business requirements
· Implement custom workflow to automate business process
· Building custom SharePoint web parts, timer jobs, and web services
· Perform system/process analysis to evaluate security levels, system utilization and growth projections
· Define and implement system/application governance models
· Research, stage and oversee new rollouts and upgrades for various applications and hardware to maximize integrity and efficiency of the system
· Manage and maintain an Active Directory implementation supporting all employees in multiple sites and remote locations
· Manage system security settings using Active Directory Group Policies
· Create and maintain baseline images for servers and workstations
· Work closely with network engineers to design and maintain a highly secure infrastructure
· Perform security assessment and remediation of Microsoft-based systems
Required Skills/Education:
· US Citizenship
· 7+ years of related technical experience
· Experience with Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, MS SQL
· Experience developing with .Net architectural models including: .Net framework and C#
· Experience with SharePoint Designer
· Experience with Visual Studio 2005 or greater
· Must be an excellent communicator and have the ability to support multiple users in-person and remotely
· Must have strong organizational and time-management skills
· Must have the ability to work well both in a team environment and independently
· Must present a professional attitude, appearance and demeanor
Desired Skills/Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an IT-related field (2 years of work experience may be substituted for each year of degree-level education)
· Secret or Top Secret Clearance
· 10+ years of related technical experience
· Experience with VMware, Citrix, or other Virtualization products
· Experience working in Linux/Unix environments
· Powershell, VBScript, Perl or some other scripting language
