Senior Systems Analyst recruitment
The Senior Systems Analyst collaborates with the business users within Market Regulation and the Development and Quality Assurance teams within IT to define new regulatory applications and ensure the effective development, delivery, and maintenance of a broad range of complex regulatory systems. The Senior Systems Analyst plays an important role in all phases of the system development lifecycle for regulatory systems and applications.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Writing detailed business requirements and software requirement specifications that fully capture business processes and accurately define required functionality.
- Performing complex ad hoc data analysis to support Market Regulation staff and augment and extend the capabilities provided through existing regulatory systems.
- Developing initial prototypes of new system functionality and data analytics that can be used by Market Regulation staff to better understand and refine proposed functionality and application requirements.
- Working with the development team to ensure deep understanding of functional requirements and business processes that affect coding decisions.
- Performing thorough functional testing of regulatory applications to ensure the implementation of accurate and defect free applications and systems.
- Providing regular status reports and updates of systems and IT issues and project milestones to Market Regulation management and staff.
- Facilitating effective communication within and outside of the Market Regulation department with regards to regulatory systems changes and impacts.
- Managing priorities and dependencies for IT projects with Development and QA teams to ensure timely implementations of regulatory systems and initiatives.
- Providing necessary post-implementation support and documentation to department staff for IT project s and systems changes.
- Working closely with end-users throughout the department to continually educate staff on the most efficient and effective ways to interact with and use the suite of regulatory applications.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a business or IT-related degree program
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in IT development, analysis, or project management.
- Must have highly developed writing skills.
- Programming experience and solid understanding of SQL and database concepts.
- Proficiency for quickly learning and adapting to complex systems and business processes in a dynamic environment.
Preferred:
- Experience in OTC or regulated financial industries
- Experience with data analysis and/or a solid understanding of statistical concepts
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Office, systems development, and project management
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and apply flexibility in achieving deadlines and learning new concepts
- Excellent customer service, outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
