Senior Systems Engineer/Administrator

A leading systematic proprietary trading house is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer/Administrator to lead the Systems Team. The position will involve interacting directly with traders, the Quant Research team and other IT staff to design bespoke infrastructure/engineering solutions. Experience with systems engineering/administration, Kernel tuning, scripting ability (shell/Perl/Python), kickstart, cfengine, and yum are essential. As is a expert level understanding of TCP/IP networking and Linux operating systems.

Employing around 50-people, this exceptional team have one of the industry leading platforms and compensation structures within the high-frequency trading space. The business is, for the most-part, equity options market-making though they do trade across all liquid asset classes and products. Their vision is simple- to become the best quant group in the market.

Role Description

The team is relatively small, but immensely important to the operations of this prop trading house and plays an integral part in the overall performance of the group. They are currently rolling out a new low-latency platform that will require servicing, performance tuning and continual development. Currently, there are over 100-servers (all co-located).The chosen candidate will perform a variety of tasks that include but not limited to the following:
