Senior Tax Accountant

Our client is a large publicly traded international corporation and the past two quarters has hit record earnings with little signs of slowing down anytime soon.  They just opened up a Senior Tax Accountant position in a well-established Tax team.  The incumbent is responsible for the preparation of domestic international tax compliance and for support of tax function, including assisting on tax provision preparation and income tax audits, reviewing recording of intercompany transactions, and researching tax issues. Individual will work directly with Tax Manager and Tax Director to plan, implement and maintain tax-efficient structure world-wide.

 

         Review foreign country income tax filings and estimated tax payment calculations.

         Assist on income tax provision preparation.

         Review journal entry recording of intercompany transactions.

         Review foreign subsidiary’s financial statements with regard to income taxes.

         Prepare federal form 5471s.

         Maintain tax calendar to ensure SOX 404 compliance.

         Coordinate with foreign subsidiary offices and outside service providers on foreign income tax matters to ensure the compliance of local country income tax filing requirements.

         Research and interpret domestic and foreign tax laws, regulations and judicial decisions pertaining to corporate operations, employees and customers, and recommend policies and procedures necessary to comply with tax laws while maximizing the company’s objectives.

         Assist on tax audits, tax planning and special assignments.

 

         Good understanding and working knowledge of FAS 109 FIN 48

         Strong research skills

         Excellent oral and written communication skills

         Experience with tax compliance software (InSource RS, CORPTAX, etc.)

         Experience with extracting data from ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, etc.)

         Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

         Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, to organize and manage time efficiently, and to interact effectively with company personnel and outside legal/tax advisors. Must be self-motivated and be willing to take ownership of projects.

 

         Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other business related fields

         CPA or CPA candidate preferred

         3 - 5 years experience in various aspects of income tax preparation

         Big four/Regional public accounting firm or large corporate tax department experience preferred
