Senior Tax Analyst
JOB SUMMARY: Provide technical sales and use tax research and audit support to corporate and subsidiary tax departments. Provide Vertex O Series system management and support. Special projects as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
* Provide sales and use tax research support.
* Provide technical guidance and support for sales and use tax audits.
* Assist in the development of internal tax policies, procedures and manuals and the training and development of internal personnel with respect to proper tax compliance policies and procedures.
* Support subsidiary sales tax processes. Conduct internal reviews of the sales and use tax compliance functions and processes of regional office locations.
* Handle technical communications with external auditors and Department of Revenue personnel.
* Provide system expertise for and support Vertex O Series and Vertex Returns software packages.
* Assist in the preparation of personal property tax returns during filing season.
* Provide technical support in the areas of escheatment, payroll taxes, 1099 reporting, and acquisition due diligence and other special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. * BA degree in accounting preferred;
* 2-4 years of progressively responsible corporate tax experience, with a focus on sales and use taxes;
* Working knowledge of multi-jurisdictional sales and use tax statutes, regulations and requirements;
* Ability to effectively research state and local tax issues in a Web-based environment;
* Knowledge of Canadian tax requirements preferred but not required
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Experience with SAP and Vertex O Series and Vertex Returns a strong plus;
* Ability to travel 0 - 10% of time.
