Job Description:

Responsible for the preparation and/or review of corporate, partnership, trust, foundation, sales, payroll, and individual income tax filings and returns within the Corporate Tax Department. Must be familiar with Schedule M-3. Prepare and/or review quarterly and annual tax provision calculations; Assist with extensions (1065, 1120, 990, 1041, 1120s, 1040); Assist with the identification of information reporting requirements. Perform tax research as appropriate under generally minimal supervision and provide other tax technical support as needed. Exposure to income tax to provision work (knowledge of 10-Q, 11-K) is a plus. Respond to inquiries from a wide variety of sources (e.g. tax authorities, auditors, etc.) for the purpose of facilitating communication and/or providing guidance among several parties; and providing information and/or referral for addressing inquiry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Candidate must be familiar with Tax Compliance (mainly partnership corporate tax returns); Preparation and/or review of federal and state income tax returns; Provide Federal audit assistance, if necessary.

Candidate must be familiar with Thomson Reuters GoSystemRS; Prepare and/or review detailed monthly analyses related to tax deferrals and accruals. Prepare and/or review quarterly tax provision, including detailed analysis of trial balances and identification and computation of Schedule M-1/M-3 adjustments. (Assist in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and annual year-end financial and regulatory reporting would be a plus)

Candidate must be familiar with Non-Income Tax Compliance; Review of non-income tax returns and filings, including: Form TD F 90-22.1 Report of Foreign Bank Accounts.
• Assist/review in preparation of estimated tax payments (made to IRS and states) as well as future withholding requirements under existing and new legislation.
• Identifying all withholding payments required to be submitted including backup withholding, IRA withholding, foreign withholding, etc.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting.

• CPA and/or progress toward is a plus.

• 5+ years, minimum, work experience with corporate income tax experience (i.e. Partnership, S-Corp, preparing/reviewing, and consolidating returns).

• Experience must be from either public accounting and/or big four. Financial services industry a plus.

• Working knowledge of financial accounting reporting and procedures a plus.

• Tax technical knowledge encompassing federal as well as state and local.

• Effective project and/or people management skills a plus.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Knowledge of Computer proficient – mostly excel (knowledge of Access is a plus).

Experience with Thomson Reuters GoSystemRS.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong critical and analytical thinking skills and problem solving capabilities.

Willing to work the hours necessary to complete the returns during Tax Season (team player).
