Senior Tax Planning Analyst

Our client is a multi-billion dollar publicly traded company that has been reporting records earnings for the past year and continues to grow. This position is part of our clients Corporate Tax Department and plays a crucial role within the established Tax group.  Job applicants should have at least 3+ years of Tax analysis experience with a large Fortune 1000 or Big4 public tax accounting.  Candidates are expected to have knowledge and experience Under the general supervision of Director Tax and/or VP of Tax, assists and supports Tax Planning group with various data collection and analysis projects with a goal of ultimately reducing worldwide income tax payments.  Assist with planning the monthly accounting close process, including updating system tables prior to accounting close.

 

Primary Duties:

Supporting tax planning projects by retrieving, analyzing and manipulating data from accounting and tax systems.

Coordinating valuation computations (internal and external).

Computing and reviewing earnings and profits amounts, foreign tax pools, effective tax rates and basis schedules to support tax planning projects.

Assisting with FAS 109 provision computations and reviews.

Documenting various planning projects and preparing audit files.

Analyzing, tracking and following through on Foreign jurisdiction local incentives, credits and opportunities as well as other tax attributes for tax planning projects.

 

Job Specifications:

A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax, and Finance

Minimum of 3+ years of work experience in Large Corporate tax, Big4, International tax experience preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Demonstrated ability with MS Access

Familiarity with Hyperion, Large ERP, or similar Accounting software.

Familiarity with Corp International or Tax Stream a plus.

Self-starter, able to work independently.

Strong analytical skills, ability to work with detailed information efficiently.

Strong organizational skills.

Open to a fast paced, changing environment as it relates to the projects and priorities in a given day
