Senior Technical Manager – Service Continuity and DR recruitment
This role is within Technology Control, which is part of the Technology Infrastructure Services team, which is responsible for the governance functions across the Technology function. This includes IT Security, Information Security Risk Management, Technology Risk Management, Internal Audit liaison, Service Continuity and DR.
The Service Continuity function supports the European Business Continuity Management process by ensuring that Technology has the ability to maintain critical services in the event of a major incident.
The purpose of this role is to make sure that Technology Infrastructure understand the critical services it provides and have “tested continuity plans” in place to recover services (including the resources required to operate those services) as well as maintaining and testing Application Recovery Plans, to ensure critical business services can be recovered according to agreed recovery SLA’s.
The successful candidate will ensure that appropriate controls are in place to manage financial and technology risks, reviewing and maintaining these controls as our clients business grows and changes and as new technologies are implemented.
Our client is looking for a Technical Manager who has a proven track record in the design and implementation of control processes, with strong leadership skills and a service focused mentality. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- On-going monitoring of Technology continuity plans and DR testing and driving for compliance with recovery requirements
- Production of management information and escalation of continuity/recovery issues
- Championing of best practices across Technology
- Developing and maintaining close working relationships with Technology and Business Continuity Management functions
- Attendance at and updates as appropriate to the European Senior Management BCP forum
- You will also be expected to take an active role in the Data Centre failover project including:
-Provision of BAU DR status information as required
- Organisation of BAU DR activities to support project objectives
-Driving change in BAU DR practices to support revised DR principles
- Making sure project deliverables meet BAU operational requirements
You will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- In depth experience of working on Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery in a Financial Services organisation
- Proven track record of effective management, delivery, and influencing at the most senior levels in the organisation
- Experience of working on highly complex, cross-business unit technical projects from inception to transition to production and post-implementation
- Ability to lead strategic thinking and to communicate effectively, both formally informally
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to present to/liaise with all levels of stakeholders
- Ability to work well in a matrix-based and geographically dispersed organisation
- Experience of leading geographically culturally diverse teams
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Experience in leading others in the performance of information security duties
- The incumbent would have preferably a graduate/post graduate degree with experience at a senior management level.
