The Senior Technical Project Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned technical projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects. They are responsible for all aspects of planning and execution of technical projects with greater than $1 million in I.S. five year costs, span multiple business units, are multi-year in duration, and span the enterprise. They also provide day-to-day management of a small organizational team.
Reporting Information/Location
This Senior Technical Project Manager is located at Auburn Hills Operations Center and reports to the Vice President, BSE. This position has multiple direct reports.
Position Responsibilities
- Plans, executes, monitors and controls technical projects from original concept through final implementation including resource plans, financial budgets, project schedules, quality, risks, issues, and scope management...
- . Assembles project team, assigns individual responsibilities, and develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
- Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis. Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables.
- Provides vendor/contract management, with solid negotiation skills.Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables.
- Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team.
- Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and resolution of problems.
- Manages small teams of permanent and contract staff, hires contract staff, and assists in the hiring of permanent staff.
- Manage performance and development processes, and staff salary administration, for a small organizational team of permanent staff.
- Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with co-workers, reports, clients and senior management.

Travel
Travel is minimal in this position.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university and 10 years IT experience, or 14 years IT experience
- 6 years of current technical project management and supervisory experience, including technical project leadership on large projects with cross-functional teams
- 6 years of current experience with project management and resource planning tools building and executing actionable plans
- 6 years of current experience with IT development and support methodology's
- 2 years effectively executing concurrent projects of varying size, cost, technologies, complexity and risk
- 2 years of experience in vendor / contract management including effective negotiations.
- 1 year of HR management responsibilities for permanent staff
