About the Job
The Company is a multi-national provider of services to the oil gas industry. The Senior Technical Safety Engineer is responsible for the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) scope in Front End studies.
Duties include
HSE and Quality:
Work in accordance with Company HSE and Quality Standards and regulations.
Carry out relevant engineering tasks and duties in accordance with established and approved procedures, such as:
Perform relevant HSE reviews and studies
Close follow-up of area and system design to ensure HSE focus in the design process
Perform risk assessments in front end studies
Area classification
Develop Escape, Evacuation and Rescue strategies
Develop Fire and Explosion strategies
Fire water calculations
Assist in fire water transient calculations
Facilitate HAZID and other HSE reviews
Participate in technology development projects
Perform concept risk evaluations
Establish design accidental loads
Perform ALARP (As low as reasonable practicable) evaluations
Ensure compliance with standards, regulations and contract specifications.
Give input to progress reports to the Study lead and/or Project Manager.
Ensure compliance with the requirements for QM and requirements for HSE.
Give input to the planner on activities and status to be performed by engineering.
Give on request technical support to subcontractors and suppliers
Follow PEM principles for execution and prepare input to PEM reviews for the WP.
Required competencies;
Education and Experience
Graduate engineer, MSc. or Dr. Engineer, PhD.
Technical safety/Risk analysis engineer with multidiscipline understanding
Innovative and creative mindset
Relevant experience in topside engineering, including front end design work, i.e. for offshore oil and/or gas facilities.
Experience from Australian and/or international field developments.
